Because of its crudeness, of course. But also for its beauty. I was fortunate enough to see it a few weeks ago and since then I have remembered it with some frequency because it is one of those works that take root and grow inside and out like trees. I was like someone attending a mere charity event and at no time did I think that I would be interested in the artistic result of the montage. The curtain rose and in the center of the stage a dancer dressed in red held a barely five-year-old girl with Down Syndrome in her arms. The girl dressed like her godmother. And she became her mirror. If the dancer raised one of her arms, the little girl would do the same.
